Nickel alloy threaded flanges contain nickel, in the range of 50 – 60%, and the balance consists of chromium, molybdenum, iron and copper as alloy additions. Corrosion resistance and mechanical properties are improved significantly with these additional alloying elements. Nickel alloys have very good mechanical properties, have a tensile strength (TS) in the range of about 750 MPa and a yield strength (YS) of about 250 MPa. Ductility and toughness are also good at high temperatures exceeding 1000oC. Nickel alloys are non-magnetic, have excellent oxidation resistance, and demonstrate retention of strength at elevated temperatures.
