The Alloy 20 flanges contain nickel (32–38%), chromium (19–21%), iron (the balance), molybdenum (2–3%) and copper (3–4%) as well as columbium for stabilization. They have good mechanical properties with a tensile strength of approximately 551 MPa yield strength of 241 MPa with an elongation of 30%. Alloy 20 is used in applications with a density of 8.1 g/cm³, with a melting range from 1357–1430°C, and good thermal conductivity. Alloy 20 is highly resistant to corrosion, especially with respect to sulfuric acid, which makes it ideal for aggressive chemical processes.
