Alloy 20 flat flanges are produced with a corrosion-resistant alloy compound of nickel, iron, chromium, with modifications made of molybdenum and copper. With 20-22 per cent chromium, 2-3 per cent molybdenum and 9-12 per cent nickel the average chemical make-up is standard. It has superb mechanical characteristics, comprising tensile durability of up to 45 ksi yield tensility of 25 to 35 ksi. It offers outstanding resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking and intergranular corrosion. The major advantages are excellent sulfuric acid resistance, good durability, good weldability, and good performance at high temperatures. These flanges find their best use in the pharmaceutical industry, chemical and food processing industries.
