Alloy 20 forged flanges are mainly composited of nickel alloyed with iron and contain 19 21 percent chromium, 3 4 percent molybdenum, traces of copper, manganese, silicon and titanium. This special construction presents superior resistance to errosion, especially at an atmosphere that contains elements of sulfuric acid and other aggressive chemicals. These flanges have very good mechanical properties such as 55000 psi tensile strength, fatigue, and creep resistance as well as stress corrosion cracking. Alloy 20 forged flanges have high weldability and can be used in high temperature applications and are therefore suitable in demanding applications in the chemical processing industry.
