Alloy 20 Lap Joint Flanges consist primarily of a nickel-iron-chromium alloy, supplemented with copper and molybdenum in small quantities, which provide very high resistance to both sulfuric acid and corrosion due to chlorides. Typically they are made up of 32-38% nickel, 19-21% chromium, 3-4% copper, and 2-3% molybdenum. In terms of their mechanical properties, they exhibit an approximate tensile strength around 551 MPa, yield strength of 241 MPa with reasonable elongation. In terms of their physical ones, it has a density of 8.1 g/cm³ and the melting point is between 1357 and 1430 °C, which indicates that this alloy can be classified as a high temperature corrosive use alloy.
