Alloy 20 socket weld flanges consist mostly of 20% nickel, 29% iron, 3% chromium, 2-3% molybdenum and small amounts of copper, manganese and other elements. The alloy has excellent resistance to sulfuric acid, and other corrosive environments. The mechanical properties include tensile strength of 60-80ksi, yield strength of 25-35 ksi, and elongation of 30%. The flanges have a physical density of 8.04 g/cm³, melting point of 1350-1390°C, and thermal conductivity of 13.4 W/m·K, providing strength, durability and corrosion resistance required to withstand harsh environments.
