Alloy Steel Slip-On Flanges are made with alloys consisting of elements such as chromium, molybdenum and nickel, which provide above-average strength, durability and corrosion resistance. Typical compositions are as follows: 0.25-0.55% carbon, 0.80-2.0% chromium, 0.15-0.25% molybdenum, etc. With a tensile strength of approximately 600 MPa, alloy steel slip-on flanges can provide excellent weldability and some good durability. Their discrete low-profile construction allows for ease of alignment and installation with minimal face to back distances. They are most beneficial for moderate-pressure systems.
