Aluminium 1100 flanges consist of 99% pure aluminium and contain trace amounts of elements such as copper (0.05–0.20%), iron (up to 0.95%), and other elements in small quantities. Having good corrosion resistance and high thermal and electrical conductivity, the alloy is not heat treatable but can be strengthened by cold working. Mechanically, Aluminium 1100 provides a tensile strength of approximately 90 MPa to 130 MPa and good ductility, making it suitable for use in flanges where there is low stress. Its light weight and formability make it versatile for use in many industries.
