Copper-Nickel Slip-On Flanges are made up of copper (70-90%) and nickel (10-30%) with very small amounts of iron and manganese used to improve strength and corrosion resistance. Copper-Nickel Slip-On Flanges possess excellent mechanical properties with a yield strength of approximately 280 MPa, tensile strength of approximately 450 MPa (depending on the filler metal), elongation in the range of 20-40% and good toughness. Copper-Nickel materials are desirable for marine applications, applications in aggressive environments, applications that require good yield strength and tensile strength and applications that require materials that resist biofouling.
