Copper Nickel Threaded Flanges are usually made of Cu-Ni 90/10 alloy (90% copper10% nickel) and demonstrate outstanding corrosion resistance in seawater environments containing trace numbers of iron and manganese. This corrosion-resistant property increases the strength and resistance to corrosion. Their mechanical properties show moderate strength (275–345 MPa) and good ductility to prevent cracking under tensile stress. They are biofoul resistant, nearly maintenance free, useful for industrial and marine applications since they are effective in both marine systems when pipelines are exposed to saltwater or transporting corrosive fluids, and allow for cable attachment to piping systems.
