Duplex Steel Flat Flanges are made up of a mix of austenitic and ferritic non-ferrous metals, usually containing 22% chromium, 5% nickel and molybdenum. As a result, they have better strength, corrosion resistance and durability than non-duplex versions. The mechanical properties include high tensile strengths of up to 620 MPa and good resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion. They have a favourable strength-to-weight ratio while also being less expensive than pure austenitic grades. They are the ideal substitute to pure austenitic grades due to their favourable properties for the petrochemical, offshore and marine industries.
