A duplex stainless steel threaded flange is made from a combination of austenite and ferritic steel. Duplex steel has a typical composition of 22-25% chromium, 4-6% nickel and 3% molybdenum. These give duplex steel its high strength, corrosion resistance, pitting resistance and stress corrosion cracking resistance. The technical properties of duplex steel are high tensile strength (up to 620 MPa), good impact resistance and good fatigue strength. In addition to these properties the benefits of duplex steel threaded flanges are easy installation, no welding required, chloride stress resistance and can withstand harsh environment. They are suitable for compression applications and high quality or high temperature or both, providing durability and reliability in many applications.
