Nickel alloy weldneck flanges consist primarily of nickel but may also have other elements added, such as chromium molybdenum and iron for enhanced corrosive resistance in severe environments. Nickel alloy weldneck flanges exhibit excellent mechanical properties including any tensile strength of around ~1000 MPa yield strength around ~450 MPa and great toughness at elevated temperatures. Since nickel alloy weldneck flanges can maintain their structural integrity and resist oxidation and scaling they are suitable for extreme environmental situations at temperatures up to/1000 °C.
